Cuba Explorer’s Weekend in Havana tour

Day 1 • Friday • Say Hello to Cuba!

  • Arrival at Havana’s José Martí International (HAV) airport.
  • Transfer to, and check-in at your boutique accommodations is prearranged.
  • Enjoy a welcome cocktail, freshen up, and settle in.
  • Group welcome dinner with your guide at La Torre restaurant.
  • Meet the musicians of the renowned Buena Vista Social Club, and enjoy a performance of their enchanting melodies.

Day 2 • Saturday • Discover Old Havana + Hemingway’s house

  • Greet the day with tasty breakfast at your boutique accommodations.
  • Walking tour of the four historic plazas in Old Havana with a local guide. Meet residents and shopkeepers along the way, many of whom are beneficiaries of our humanitarian travel project.
  • Learn to make a mojito hand in hand with a Cuban master mixologist at the Museum of Rum.
  • Meet with private Cuban artisans and craftworkers at Almacenes de Depósito San José, a giant dream market offering thousands of handmade objects and paintings.
  • Lunch at the private restaurant Mojito-Mojito.
  • Visit Ernest Hemingway’s Finca Vigía home and meet the docents and curators who maintain his vast library, manuscripts, and personal belongings.
  • Return to your boutique accommodations to freshen up.
  • Dinner at Cuba’s premier eatery, El Ajiaco, featuring genuine country-side cuisine.
  • Together with hundreds of Cubans, attend El Cañonazo, the 9 PM Cannon Firing Ceremony.

Day 3 • Sunday • Music, art + 1950s classic American cars

  • Greet the day with tasty breakfast at your boutique accommodations.
  • Private music lesson and Cuban history workshop with virtuoso musician Alberto Faya.
  • Elegant luncheon at the private Restaurante Habanera in Miramar where Charlies, Prince of Wales, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall dined in 2019.
  • Tour the private wonderland of acclaimed Cuban muralist and ceramist José Fúster known as the Picasso of the Caribbean. Meet him, and learn from his team about new art in our Americas.
  • Get to know the innovative mechanics and chauffeurs who lovingly restore 1950s classic American cars during a drive through Havana’s ancient streets.
  • Return to your boutique accommodations to freshen up.
  • Farewell group dinner at the private paladar Le Petit, in Old Havana.
  • Time to explore the city with your new Cuban friends.

Day 4 • Monday • Bye-bye Cuba

  • Greet the day with tasty breakfast at your boutique accommodations.
  • Transfer to Havana’s José Martí International (HAV) airport for flights home.
